This handwritten Letter from Charles H Smith requests that his and his wife's name be removed from the petition circulated by Reverend Foy regarding the new school in Middleburg. Through a mistake, Smith indicated his name was added to the list. He requests that their names be erased from the list "because that is not the way I would vote for the new school." Charles H Smith's name on appears on the 16 Jan 1945 petition from the Grant PTA.

I writing you a few lines to say would you please cancel my name also my wife name of the List of Voters for the new school in Middleburg which Rev Foy collect these names. Through mistake my name was added to the List of names please erase my name Out. Because that is not the way I would vote for the new school.
