My dear Mrs. Painter:
Let me thank you for your letter of the 19th with reference to the closing of the Taylorstown school and the transportation of the pupils to another school, over a road which you and other patrons consider unsafe for bus transportation. This is a matter which comes within the jurisdiction of the local school authorities rather than this Department. I am, therefore, forwarding your letter and a copy of my reply to your division superintendent for whatever action he and his school board may deem advisable.

Dear Sir
I am enclosing a petition about keeping Taylorstown School and I hope it will do some good. Because the road are so bad for a bus to run over you can hardly get over with a car. I hope you could come up right now and look at the roads. They are so many little children to ride the bus. Any body thought any thing of these little children wouldnt want them to ride a bus over
these roads. I hope you will help me out. Taylorstown School has been here along (sic) while and I hope we can still keep it. We the community pay taxes and I dont see why we can have a school. I could of got more signers but the road are (sic) so bad I couldnt get over them.
I hope I will here (sic) from you and you will help us out. We have enough scholar to run a school.

We the undersigned Tax-Payers and Patrons of The Taylorstown school in Lovettsville District, Loudoun County do most respectfully petition you not to discontinue the school at Taylorstown at this time on account of the condition of the roads to the nearest High School.
