The enclosed petition is supposed to be in interest of school. Intentions were to bring
the petition but as roads are so bad we are sending it in. Hoping this can be settled in the best
interest of all concerned we remain yours resp.

To O. L. Emmerick [sic] Supt and members of Public School Board
We the undersigned being patrons of Taylorstown Public School and Taxpayers, do hereby petition the removal of the teacher now employed at the above school, viz. Miss Poffenberger. This is no reflection on her name, personally or otherwise, but because she simply can not govern or control the scholars. The children have been allowed to do as they please, destroying school property inside and out. A committee will deliver this petition and explain further.
