This petition to the Mount Gilead District of Loudoun County Public Schools through District Superintendent O.L. Emerick requests that the Purcellville Colored School have Mrs E. M. Norton as principal for the 1935-1936 school year. The patrons of Purcellville school write that she is of high moral standing with educational ability and that she has taking great interest in the community.

To Mt Gilead District School ℅ Proff. Emerick.
We the undersigned being patrons of the Purcellville School, and citizens of the community, request that authority to respect the application of Mrs E. M. Norton to the Principleship in our school for 1935-1936. Should it be tenured, Mrs Nortons high moral standing, her education ability, and the great interest she has taken in the community, justifies us in asking you this favor.
