• [Petitions (Colored schools) 1946 - Middleburg Grant - requests new school be built in Maxville not St Louis
  Feb 26, 1946, the PTA and Community League for the Grant School in Middleburg opined that Saint Louis was an inappropriate location for the new school and provided a detailed argument for Maxville (or Macville), a community east of Middleburg on the north side of route 50. The petition places Middleburg above St. Louis in every way, possessing "leadership, wealth, progressiveness, and potentialities." In contrast, St. Louis is described as a poor backwater that has little to offer Loudoun residents.
